Try the search box:
There is a handy search box near the top of (almost) every page of our website.
Type a few key words (like flat pad post, or adjustable bracelet), or an item number into the search box.
To improve results, add the material (like sterling or 304 stainless) or color, or try variations (barpins vs. bar pins vs. bar pin).
When searching by item number:
Try just the first part of the item number (40-099, instead of 40-099-56-4).
Or try the whole number with no punctuation (0532806143).
Not sure what the doohickey is called, or how it's spelled? Try the main "SHOP" Category...
Shop by category:
The main SHOP category is like a catalog Table Of Contents, or the Store Directory at the front of a department store.
This is a great way to find those hard-to-spell Swarovski crystal items!
Many important metal jewelry-making parts are in the "findings" category, so we listed the Findings category first on the page -- but another category (like "Sterling Silver") may get you there faster, so briefly scan down the whole page to find the main category that your item is likely to be in.
When you find an item that's close, and want to see similar options...
Click on the name or the picture (to get into the item's details), and then either:
click the "Related Products" tab inside the item, or
If you're using a mobile device, do you know about the "hamburger" menu?
It's the 3 stacked lines in the gray bar near the top of the screen, and most mobile devices "sandwich" the navigation menu (like our SHOP | LEARN | NEW ARRIVALS links) into the "hamburger" menu. Why do they hide essential links like this? These menu items usually fit neatly on a desktop screen, but take up huge amounts of space on tiny mobile screens, so web designers decided it was best to tuck them away into those 3 little lines... and once you know they exist, it's pretty convenient.
To add items to your cart...
Click the "Add" button just below the price of each item.
This adds a single item to your cart. You can adjust the quantity before adding an item, or after it's in your cart. Depending on your browser, you might see tiny arrows to adjust the quantity up or down, or you can highlight the item and type a new quantity.
Tip: It's always a good idea to double-check quantities during checkout, in case you added an item twice during your shopping trip.
When it's time to check out...
If you're a wholesale customer, or you want all of your account history to be saved in one account, be sure to log in before checking out.
If you are using one email address for your order with us, and a DIFFERENT email address for PayPal, we highly recommend that you set up and log into your Rings & Things account before beginning the checkout process.
Otherwise, we might not receive your order, even though PayPal might give you the impression that we did. (Be sure to watch for an order confirmation from Rings & Things, not just from PayPal).
To check out...
Click on the shopping cart image in the upper right corner of the screen, to see what's in your current cart.
Review your items, and watch for any red boxes warning you of out-of-stock items.
If you have a promo code, enter it now, and verify that it does what you want it to.
Click "Proceed to Checkout" to actually begin the checkout process.
If you already have an account, log into it now.
In case this combines today's cart, with a previous day's cart, double-check your cart's contents.
If you want to be able to easily track your order's status, we recommend setting up an account now, if you didn't already. If not, that's fine too -- just checkout as Guest instead of logging in.
Enter a shipping address so our cart will know whether or not to charge you Washington state's sales tax, and so you can pick the shipping option you want.
If you only see UPS Ground, please check your cart for HZ* items that can only be shipped via UPS Ground.
After reviewing your items and shipping options, select or add a payment method (including gift certificates), then click "Continue".
Here you have one more chance to review your cart:
Double-check your shipping address, especially if using PayPal!
Double-check your shipping method.
Double-check quantities and watch for out-of-stock alerts.
If it all looks good, then click "Place Order". You should receive a confirmation email within moments, and a shipping confirmation in approximately one business day.
