This liquid solution etches the surface of glass, creating a frosted, matte finish. Works on gemstones, too! We've tried it on a wide variety of agates, jaspers, and other stones, and so far it has given a nice matte finish to all the gemstone beads and pendants that we've tried it on.We've also found that it removes all tarnish and patina from solid copper, bringing back its original shine. Easy to use & reuse; simply pour back into original bottle when finished dipping. Does not work on Pyrex® or borosilicate glass. Usually works on Japanese seed beads, but their coating seems to make the remaining etchall lose effectiveness. Will strip off decorative coatings (such as aurora borealis). Remember Murphy's Law! Before oxidizing, antiquing or otherwise applying any chemical to every piece of your best customer's 1,000-piece order, we strongly recommend that you test the chemical(s) on a small sample of the goods.
