5.5 x 5.5 x 6.5" UltraLite Beehive Studio Pro Kiln, perfect for jewelry and other small items. 3.5" diameter firing surface is 1.5" high. The Beehive jewelry kiln by JEC was originally developed for fine metals granulation and enameling, but is the perfect choice for firing small metal clay products or Keum-boo. It can be used for enameling, glass fusing, granulation, and firing Art Clay Silver and PMC too! This is an excellent, economical jewelry making tool. Kiln body is composed of high insulating ceramic fiber. Produces working temperature of 1,600° F (871° C). This improved Pro Studio kiln includes aluminum lid, 6' cord, stainless steel working spatula, 7" hot pad and complete instructions. The stand has been upgraded from metal to composite, designed to draft the airflow back into the kiln, keeping the stand cooler and the kiln hotter. 120 Volt plug (US standard).

More Details

Great for firing enamels and Art Clay™ Silver, but not large enough to hold the firing pan required for COPPRclay and BRONZclay.

To adjust the temperature, you can move the lid off-center or purchase an in-line controller (purchased separately - normally used by people turning the temperature down to 800 F for Keum-boo). A digital pyrometer can be used for exact temperature measurement, but is not normally necessary.

The manufacturer provides excellent instructions in PDF format for using this kiln, including specifics for fusing glass, and firing PMC+, PMC3, PMC Onfire Sterling, Art Clay 650, FYI Fine Silver, FS999 Fine Silver, EZ960, Keum-Boo, and Cork Clay. (Plus they add new instructions periodically.)

And the manufacturer provides videos on using the Ultralite kiln, now too! Here are a few favorites:
