Tarnished after 1 week. This is the 3rd sterling silver necklace I've purchased that has turned completely black within a week. One of the chains was still in the original packaging (for about a month) and when I went to use it, there were random spots on the chain that were blackened. Will never purchase sterling silver chain from here again. --[R&T Reply: Hi, we noticed that you're in Hawaii, and we have noticed that we get complaints about sterling silver (and silver plated) items tarnishing fast in Hawaii and other tropical islands. We are not sure if it is the high humidity combined with sea air, or exactly what the reason is. But we have heard reports that customers in some parts of the country prefer rhodium-plated items -- even rhodium-plated sterling silver! -- to prevent tarnish (even on items that haven't been touched or used). It sounds strange to plate sterling silver, and we don't actually carry rhodium-plated sterling, but many fine jewelry stores prefer it, because it keeps them from constantly having to polish their displays of sterling silver items.]
