Solid sterling silver blanks will take your metal stamping projects to the high end of jewelry design. Choose from dozens of silver shapes, including geometrics, hearts, flowers, washers (rings), and ovals. Most styles provide one or more ready-made holes or loops for easy hanging. Other components come without holes for maximum design flexibility. Use as-is or add holes wherever you want them. You can polish these sterling silver supplies to be bright and shiny, or oxidize them for an antique look.
- 24-gauge components (0.5mm thick) work great for metal stamping, embossing, soldering, riveting, and engraving.
- 18-gauge (1mm thick) sterling components are excellent for engraving, but are a bit tough to stamp. (Before stamping 18-gauge sterling, practice on 18-gauge copper or 20-gauge nickel silver. Tip: For heavy gauge metal, it's easier to make a good impression with small stamps, than with large stamps.)
