Quick Sparkling Red and Green Earrings Tutorial
Created by: Polly Nobbs-LaRue
Place green cushion stone in setting, pressing the bezel into place to hold the stone firm. Bend the prongs down from alternate sides to keep the stone centered. Use finger pressure or nylon-jaw pliers, to avoid scratching the finish on the back of the stone.
When prongs are bent down, use the burnisher (or nylon jaw pliers) to flatten them to the stone, preventing snagging.
Add a red bead to the leg of a straight-leg ear wire, and use the 1-step looper to make a loop.
Use chain-nose pliers to slightly open the loop on this ear wire and slide it onto the bezel with a green stone. (For best way to open and close loops, see Jump Ring Hint in Jewelry Basics 101 - PDF). Close securely.
Repeat with red stone and green bead.
The shade of red originally used in this design, is no longer available. Other great red options are now linked at the end of the parts, along with a few additional green cushion square options, and 4mm bicone options.
