Make these rockin' Swarovski crystal skull earrings -- great with jeans, the classic little black dress, or for Halloween or el Dia de los Muertos!
Created by: Sondra Barrington and Summer Melaas
File one side of the drop loops to make a more suitable gluing surface.
Glue a drop loop onto top and bottom of the 14mm skull (see inset). Pro Tip: For best durability, use a 2-part epoxy.
Let dry overnight.
Cut the chains into 7 different lengths for each earring.
Using the 6mm rondelle bead, wire wrap a link connecting the bottom of the skull to the 7 links of chain (longest chain in the middle). For step-by-step instructions on making loops, see Jewelry Basics 101 (PDF)
One or more parts (or tools) used in this project are no longer available, so we've moved the whole project into the "Misc Jewelry Tutorials with Issues" area while we decide what we want to do about it: find a good sub, re-make this project, or retire the tutorial.
Use a jump ring to add the cross to the bottom of the longest chain. Make sure this chain ends up in the middle of the 7 chain lengths, on the middle of the wire wrap link. For best way to open and close jump rings, see Jewelry Basics 101 (PDF)
Add a 4mm bicone onto a ball-end pin and wrap one onto each of the remaining 6 chains.
Hook the top of the skull to the French hook earwire.
Repeat for other earring.
