Our green jade pendants, olive jade beads and donut pendants, lime jade, white jade and yellow jade beads (sometimes called butterscotch agate), are made from a type of serpentine. Semiprecious serpentine gemstones are translucent, waxy silicates of magnesium which often come in shades of green and have historically been confused with types of jade. Serpentine, however, is softer and less dense than most real jade. Many of these varieties of serpentine "jade" beads and pendants are only available while current supplies last, so don't wait to buy and be sorry later!
Serpentine is said to restore self-confidence, dispel fear, and enhance meditation. Types of serpentine, including green jade, are also thought to help balance female hormones and increase milk production in nursing mothers.
We aren't too sure what our Madagascar Flower "Jade" is, but it's pretty! We think it's actually agate, but it might be serpentine.
