Enjoy the direct design process of working with metal clays! Shaping metal in clay form removes many of the technical difficulties of metal work. Metal clays consist of finely powdered metal combined with non-toxic binders and water. When fired, the binders burn away to leave pure metal creations. BRONZclay (bronzeclay), and COPPRclay (copperclay) and White COPPRclay can can be rolled, sculpted, stamped, sanded, burnished, filed, engraved, drilled and polished, before and after firing. For basic tips, how-to information and tutorials, see our Metal Clay 101 education page.
Tip for working with metal clays: Be sure to keep tools and work surfaces used for precious metal clays (Art Clay Silver and PMC) separate from tools and work surfaces used for copper clays (COPPRclay) and bronze clays (BRONZclay). Otherwise, you might get unintended results due to the mixing of different metal scraps.
