Cut leather following instructions provided with the Big Shot Jewelry Studio and feather die.
Tack feather cutout to feather base with The Ultimate or other appropriate adhesive.
Use leather punch to punch holes in leather feather where desired.
Attach strap tip using rivet (and rivet setting tool).
Attach each eyelet (with a corresponding washer on the reverse side) using eyelet setting tool.
Use extra large jump ring through strap tip to attach hammered oval chain. Attach lobster clasp at end of chain with medium jump ring. For best way to open and close loops, see Jump Ring Hint in Jewelry Basics 101 (PDF)
Attach large jump ring to each eyelet.
One or more parts (or tools) used in this project are no longer available, so we've moved the whole project into the "Misc Jewelry Tutorials with Issues" area while we decide what we want to do about it: find a good sub, re-make this project, or retire the tutorial.
Designer Tips, Continued
Cut chain to random lengths. Attach one length of each style to each of 3 medium jump rings. Attach each of these to one of the rings attached to the eyelet.
This necklace could be made longer, to wear with a regular neckline. As-is it look great with a halter style or other higher neck.
Note: The feather die in this necklace is technically a bracelet die, but at 7-3/4" (200cm), it also makes a stunning necklace centerpiece!
