Niobium is a nickel-free inert metal. It is very resistant to corrosion and other reactions, and is used in medical implants. Niobium is not plated or painted, so will not flake or chip. It is anodized, meaning it is colored by dipping it into an electrically charged "bath." Because it contains no nickel, lead, or other additives, most people with metal allergies can safely wear niobium.
Niobium Colors will vary: Colors from different batches, especially teal, may not exactly match. Teal ear wires and teal jump rings will look nice together, but are almost guaranteed to be different shades.

Bronze-colored colored niobium ear wires. 0.81mm thick (20 gauge). These earring hooks are lead free, nickel free, cadmium free, and meet the EU Nickel Directive. Jewelry findings made of niobium are highly resistant to corrosion. These do not include a bead or coil.
I am allergic to nickel, and these earring wires make it possible to wear French wires.

I work in oxidized copper and ceramic clay so my ear wires need to be complementary to my other materials. These niobium wires are ideal and give my purchasers a pair of hypo-allergenic wires they can wear in comfort!

I use only sterling silver, gold-filled or niobium for my ear wires. Niobium works for people who cannot even wear metal at all. Never a customer complaint for a bad reaction to my ear wires.

These are more functional looking than the Tierracast ones with the copper ball accent but function just as well because they are niobium and hypo-allergenic!
