Fixer Upper Leather Earrings Tutorial
Created by: Rita Hutchinson
Designer Tips
Determine desired size of earrings and mark the back of the leather to indicate cuts. (Pictured pair is 55x20mm.)
Cut leather to size with rotary cutter, against a straight edge ruler. I recommend cutting into a long strip, and then cutting to desired length. Do not use rotary cutter on desk or table top without a protective layer.
Punch hole at one end to attach earwire. (To ensure that the earrings hang straight, you may want to measure and find the center before punching.)
Set eyelet through hole for durability.
Attach earwire. For best way to open and close loops, see Jump Ring Hint in Jewelry Basics 101 (PDF).
Add French Wire keepers to keep earrings securely on the ear (or on a jewelry display card, for sale).
