Designer Tips
Read the instructions included with the rivet piercing/setting tool (#69-900). Also check out the instructional video for more information on using this riveting system.
With an extra-fine-point Sharpie marker, carefully marks spots to punch for hinge. Punch 1 hole, and verify the fit. Select and insert an eyelet that is 1mm longer than the stacked sheets. Flare eyelet following instructions included with the tool. Mark and punch the second hole. If necessary, use a bead reamer to center copper hole on hinge hole.

Determine pattern of front and inside of book, including where to attach bar pin to back. When determining location for the pin, make sure the pin can open and close securely, and nothing will interfere with the catch.
NOTE: The 1/16" rivets and eyelets fit the holes in all our superior quality bar pins, but the holes on the 3/4" length bar pin are too close to the end of the pin for the setting tool to work.
Mark and punch first hole for pin back, and rivet securely. Repeat with other hole.
Now that the important parts are secure, punch and decorate as desired. Set all the eyelet portions first, then switch to the default attachment on the tool for any rivets.
In this design, the 16mm copper gear is stacked behind the 16mm sprocket.
