Ear threads (sometimes called Threader Earrings) offer sleek possibilities in earring design!
Easy to use, these earring findings allow you to make elegant earrings by simply stringing a few beads onto the metal threads (optional: hold beads in place with SmartBeads or Bead Bumpers).
Many styles come with loops so you can add dangles to the bottom of the ear thread. Exclusive styles offer chain dangles and wavy bars not available anywhere else.
Choose from 925 sterling silver and vermeil (karat gold plate over silver) ear threads for components that are naturally hypoallergenic. That means these earring findings work great for most people with sensitive skin.
Ear Threads are a quick way to make linear earrings:
Attach dangles, thread beads directly onto the chain, or leave plain.
Use post to penetrate piercing, then pull through.
Now available in Sterling Silver and Vermeil.
Available in both original style and "U" threaders!
Lengths may vary.
Beads with 1mm+ hole -- including 6mm and 8mm Swarovski crystal bicones -- can be strung directly onto the thread. Vermeil ear threads are slightly thicker than the sterling ear threads.
Changeable earrings: New earrings every day! Change the slide-on beads each time you wear them.
For threads without a built-in "U": To keep beads on thread when on display card or in jewelry box, carefully add wire keepers (#33-960, #33-961) or better yet, use SmartBeads (available in sterling and gold). These look great and are easy to put on ear threads without breaking the solder joint.
Threads with built-in "U" are great because the "U" keeps the thread in place in the ear - no need for a nut in the back. We do not recommend stringing beads onto these styles, as it could bend or otherwise damage the "U."
