EURO TOOL 4" Diamond Needle File Set #69-140

SKU 69-140
Set of ten 4" EURO TOOL® precision diamond needle files with 1.5" filing surfaces (fine grit diamond electroplated onto high-grade stainless steel). Includes round, half-round, flat, three-square, square, warding, slitting, oval, knife and barrette files. This hand-selected, jewelry making tool set can be used with or without a file handle (available separately). Often used on dry, unfired metal clay, as well as fired metal clay. Nice economical set to use for all types of jewelry -- but if you use multiple types of metals, be sure to keep the files used for each type of metal, separate. Basemetals can contaminate precious metals, and cause pitting and discoloration when soldering, firing or applying chemicals.

Shaping, Smoothing and Texturing Tools

  • Clean your tools promptly after each use, so you can save the scrap silver and re-use it.  It might not seem like much each time, but it can add up to a lot of saved money!
  • Small screw-tight cosmetic containers work very well for saving left-over bits of unfired Art Clay Silver and other precious Metal Clays.  Add a few drops of water as necessary.
  • We strongly recommend that you keep a separate set of files for each type of metal. Residues of aluminum, nickel, pewter, etc. can contaminate your precious metals, discoloring them or releasing toxic fumes when soldering or applying chemicals.

perfect for tight spaces

by Linda -Must-Haves Jewelry| 1/28/2011 0:00:00

Smaller than most files, they are a must-have for working with PMC. Because of their petite size, they are wonderful for getting into tight spaces. They are only four inches long and the smallest round file is only 2mm at the widest part. I had them at a PMC class and everyone wanted to borrow them.
