Approximately 8x5mm cherry "quartz" rondelle with large hole (2-2.5mm). These pretty large-hole glass (faux gemstone) rondelles are great for macrame as well as simple necklaces strung on 2mm leather or cotton cord. Rondelles are similar to heishi beads, but have a more rounded shape. There are 36-44 beads per 8" strand. This "stone" is not always available -- get them while you can!

Cherry "Quartz" is a very pretty mixture of clear glass with thin swirls and needles of pink. This manmade gemstone is similar in hue to Swarovski's color padparadscha. Some people use the name "strawberry quartz" for this material that we call cherry "quartz", but true strawberry quartz is a naturally occurring (if somewhat rare) strawberry-colored stone with sparkly hematite needles.
