What:flat aluminum, copper, and nickel scrap metal (sheet or blanks, no wire please) 26 gauge to 18 gauge, 1" or larger
Who: for a project at Regal Elementary School in Spokane, Washington. Over 85% of these students come from low-income homes.
Why: Students will be making a small pendant necklace as a parent gift. They would love the opportunity to make a quality gift and experiment with metals. (An annual arts budget of approximately 0.60/student means this is tough without donations!)
When: Any time between now and January 15th, 2019. p.s. Although the original drive is over, you're welcome to still drop spare metal blanks or 26-gauge - 18-gauge sheet metal pieces off for next time!
Tara Gary, Visual Arts Teacher with Spokane Public Schools has worked with her students on similar projects in the past, and will prepare the metal (removing any sharp edges) before the Regal Elementary students begin their project.
