SPOKANE COMPANY HELPED DECK SPOKANE, WA, January 8, 2002 – Crystals and clay from Rings & Things of Spokane (R&T) helped decorate President Bush’s Christmas tree last month. R&T’s customer, Paper Tole Originals in Gulf Breeze, FL, was one of only 200 artisans in the country whose original works were picked to grace the 2001 White House tree. R&T owner Russ Nobbs couldn’t be more tickled. "We sell to 20,000 jewelry makers all over the world, and our stuff has appeared on "Sex and the City", but this is the first time we’ve heard of a President using our products!" Pamela Wynn of Paper Tole Originals describes her ornament as a photo-transfer image of Old Christ Church in Florida onto polymer clay from Rings & Things, which she formed onto a glass ornament bulb, then ringed with Swarovski® Austrian crystal beads from the Spokane company. Rings & Things is a 30-year-old, Spokane-based, worldwide wholesale distributor of jewelry parts. The company has grown from owner Russ Nobbs’ one-person crafts venture to a staff of 65 occupying a 17,000-square-foot warehouse downtown. R&T is an official distributor of the famous Swarovski brand Austrian crystal beads and prisms, and sells all sorts of jewelry-making components, from earring wires to stretchy bracelet cord to wine-glass charms.
