Spam is occasionally e-mailed with various spoofed "rings-things.com" return addresses, and resultant bouncebacks and related issues sometimes briefly clog our e-mail servers. How can you tell if the e-mail you received was truly from Rings & Things? If the subject matter is off-topic (i.e., not about jewelry-making or beads), then the e-mail is not from us. Also, if your e-mail program allows you to look into the details in the e-mail header, it will often show evidence of spoofing. Read about spoofing attacks on Wikipedia.
Our ISP is helping, but can't prevent all the load. To the best of our knowledge, we are continuing to receive all e-mails. However, there might be occasional delays, especially in the evenings or weekends.
Interesting fact: According to Wikipedia, approximately 80% of the 90 billion spam messages sent our per day, are sent by fewer than 200 spammers! Lovely, eh?
