2008

"Great Lengths"

You'll definitely want the details on our four simple and versatile necklaces featured in the "Quick & Easy Gifts" section of Simply Beads' December 2008 issue! These lovely lengths can be worn layered and wrapped for a wide variety of stylish looks. For parts and full free instructions, go to our Great Lengths web page. We promise you won't need to go to great lengths to make these great designs!

"Scarf Pin"

The scarf pin project on p 62 of Simply Beads' December 2008 issue makes great use of our bend-it-yourself safety pin. This easy-to-use beandable pin allows you to showcase multiple beads or a single jumbo bead up to 2-inches long. Finish your design with pewter spacer beads, 5.9mm jump rings, 18-gauge silver wire and charms of your choice. Bone pendant pictured to the right.

"Eyeglasses Holder"

Great for a gift or for yourself is the eyeglasses holder design on p 65 of Simply Beads' December 2008 issue. Start with your choice of Rings & Things' eyeglass holders. Then, simply string black rubber tubing, 4mm silver rounds and festive colorful beads of your choice to 0.018" beading wire. Voila! A fun and festive way to keep track of reading glasses.

"Pixie Dust Ornament"

Want a new idea for trimming your tree? You need look no farther than pp 69 & 77 of Simply Beads' December 2008 issue. Their cute "Pixie Dust" tree ornament uses a glass vial with cork as the base for a cute creature that can hold glitter, stones, perfume oil or whatever else suits your fancy. Adorn the vial with an elf bead, brass curved-tube beads, 4mm Swarovski® crystal bicones, a brass butterfly filigree and brass spacers/disks. Brass jump rings, gold-filled crimp tubes, 20-gauge wire.

"Hair Sticks"

Page 82 of Simply Beads' December 2008 issue offers a sweet, simple pattern for stylish, playful hair sticks. Choose beads of your choice (make sure they have at least a 1.5mm hole size) to adorn our wooden hair sticks. The beads are easy to string and attach to the hair stick with our hat pins. For spacers, use 4mm silver rounds. Glass zebra-stripe beads.

"Ah, Paris!"

Enjoy some decoupage delight with the design on p 22 of Simply Beads' August 2008 issue. For a slightly smaller alternative to wooden circle blanks, try our metal gluable disks. Stock up on other supplies for the project here too: cream freshwater pearls, 9x5mm Swarovski® briolettes (teardrops), 5mm & 10mm silver-plated jump rings, 24-gauge silver head pins, sterling hook clasps & silver chain.

"China Girl"

Go absolutely fabulous with the Asian-look design on p 41 of Simply Beads' August 2008 issue! We're excited that our cinnabar beads & centerpieces are a feature of this colorful necklace. But don't stop there—we also carry round cloisonné beads, 4mm gold rounds, gold bead caps, gold Scrimps™, toggle clasps, 20-gauge gold wire, stringing cable & gold chain. Don't want the hassle of making your own tassel? Then use one of our pre-made tassels!

"Mermaid's Scales Earrings"

We've got the Rings-&-Things exclusive style of box-&-cable-chain ear threads you'll need to make the summery earrings on p 82 of Simply Beads' August 2008 issue! We've also got the gold-filled jump rings you'll need to attach your lentil beads. (All our vermeil ear threads.)

Best of 2008: Metal Clay Kit

On page 18 of their February 2008 issue, Simply Beads lists Rings & Things metal-clay tool kit as a "Best of 2008" buy! This kit is available exclusively from us, and includes specialized metal-clay tools you're not already likely to have in your studio.

Best of 2008: "Caged Up"

Get the wire-wrapped look without the work! Our wire-wrapped beads/links and wire-wrapped connectors are named a "Best of 2008" buy on page 21 of Simply Beads February 2008 issue. Best yet, they're available in a variety of shapes and metals/platings.

We've Got Simply Beads' Fave Chain

See page 55 of Simply Beads' February 2008 issue for their favorite chain. Then, come to us to buy it! We no longer offer the gold-plated anchor chain, but do still carry gunmetal rollo chain, spiral footage chain and 150+ other styles of bulk footage chain, in both base metals and precious metals!

"Leaf Me Aside"

Want to make a stylish necklace featuring metal leaf charms & pendants, like the one on page 59 of Simply Beads' February 2008 issue? Then use us as your source for parts: tigereye coin beads, amazonite rectangle beads, amazonite puffed briolettes, 2.1mm-2.8mm gold-plated flat cable chain, gold-plated extender chain, jump rings, 12mm gold-plated lobster clasps and 22-gauge brass wire.

2007

Got Framed? We Can Help

To make the "Framed" design on pp 88-9 of Simply Beads's October 2007 issue, try on our feshwater pearls for size! We have Web-only pearl specials in addition to our permanent line of freshwater pearls. Plus, we have Griffin® needle-end beading cord (our waxed cotton is too thick for unreamed pearls).

Oh, So Engaging!

Page 13 of Simply Beads' "Quick & Easy Gifts" section (Oct. 2007 issue), features directions for the "Engaged" bracelet, by Rings & Things' employees Selina Shehan and Misha Lengling! Print the free Designer Tip Sheet now. To do so, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader (download it free here). We offer quick-loading & high-resolution versions of the instructions, complete with stock numbers!

"Beachcomber Bracelet"

The summery bracelet on pp 28-31 of Simply Beads' August 2007 issue makes great use of our mesh tubing! String 6mm Czech glass rounds inside the mesh, separated by antiqued metal spacers and seashell charms outside for a sensational look.

"Blue Lotus" Basics

Simply Beads knows we've got the perfect complements to handmade centerpieces! Check out "Blue Lotus" on page 48 of their August 2007 issue, then come to us with your shopping list: Hill Tribe clasps and charms, seed beads, 8mm faceted gemstone rondelles, Swarovski® crystal beads, sterling silver French hooks, sterling eye pins and 0.015" coated stringing cable.

Prom Queen Pomp

We've got what you need to make the Victorian-style choker seen in the April 2007 issue of Simply Beads: Swarovski® crystal beads, faceted glass teardrop beads, gunmetal head pins, gunmetal eye pins and gunmetal jump rings.

Gunmetal & Cream

The "Sunflowers & Cream" necklace in Simply Beads' April 2007 issue creates a striking look by contrasting creamy faux pearls with dark gunmetal. We can help with gunmetal jump rings, gunmetal eye pins, Bali-style spacer beads and toggle clasps.
