Steampunk Sprocket - Disk-and-Loop Bracelet

2 #44-070 13mm I Ching coin replicas, antiqued bronze
1 #44-059 Nigerian 1/10th penny coin

1 #37-189-9 13.5mm round jump ring, gunmetal

Tools and supplies: cutters, shears, file, round-nose pliers, chain-nose pliers, circle template (#69-265-01), adhesive such as Epoxy 330 (#60-230), hole-punch (#69-235), Win-Ox� (#86-343) or liver of sulfur gel (#86-324),alphabet stamp set (#69-241-01-L), antique skeleton key, snaps from fabric store, tiny screws and nuts from hardware store

TIPS:
*Use a circle template and letter I alphabet stamp to create the brass circle (under the artsy heart.) Patina the brass circle and heart. Punch a hole in the heart and secure with a tiny nut and screw. File down the extra length of the screw.

* Use an adhesive such as Epoxy 330 (#60-230) to glue items the disk and loop bracelet in a random fashion that is pleasing to the eye. The more gears, sprockets and coins the better!

Tools and supplies: flush cutters, 2 pair chain-nose pliers, jump ring mandrels (#69-073 and #69-200)

Use jump ring makers to create 6mm, 8mm and 10mm copper jump rings.

Tools and supplies: scissors, hammer, nail, file, bracelet mandrel (#69-173), antiquing solution such as liver of sulfur (#86-354), adhesive such as Super New Glue (#60-270), E-6000 adhesive (#60-260)

To make this design:
1. Use a nail to punch a hole in center of filigree and file off any sharp edges.
2. Patina the filigree in liver of sulfur.
3. Using a bracelet mandrel, gently shape the filigree into a bracelet shape.
4. Wrap crystals and small sterling beads onto filigree as desired. Start with a couple of wraps with no beads to anchor the wire.
Be sure to trim carefully and tuck ends to avoid any sharp points.
5. Cut three 12" lengths of suede lace. Center on one end of filigree and tie a knot.
6. Braid the 6 strands together. Close to the end, tie on one piece of the magnetic clasp. Knot the ends and trim closely.
Use a little drop of super glue to secure.
7. Use jump ring to attach other half of clasp to end of filigree.
8. Use E-6000 adhesive to glue rivoli stone into center of filigree. Let cure.

Tools and Supplies: chasing hammer (#69-134), metal punch (#69-235), flat-nose pliers, heavy metal file, small hinge, tiny screws and nuts from hardware store

TIPS: Use a chasing hammer to texture the copper blanks, and a metal punch to punch four holes in each blank.

TIP: Use a small hinge and screws to attach the blanks together. Secure with a bolt (not shown). File down the extra length of the screws.
