This vibrant piece was named for Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón. Frida was a Mexican artist who created powerful and symbolic paintings. It's said that many of her pieces, mostly self portraits, were expressions of her own pain. Frida was plagued by chronic physical pain and life-long emotional battles which she poured into her paintings without shame or fear. The bold presence and bright colors of this piece mirror the artists paintings.

Apple coral is just one of our many beautiful gemstones. Browse through our Gemstone Beads Index for information about our ever-growing line of gemstones!
