The design of this necklace was based around the look of the silver leaf donut, a gemstone that varies dramatically in nature. The peyote-stitched bronze beads were included to shake up the smooth, silvery look of the rest of the piece. The precise and nearly identical size of our Toho Treasure seed beads make them perfectly suited for peyote-stitch or gourd-stitch beading.
The donut was turned into a pendant by attaching two discs with bails to the back of the gemstone with hypo cement glue. This allowed two strands of beads to be attached, each from one side of the pendant to the clasp. Because the Beadalon will show on the front of the necklace, we recommend using French wire, or "bullion," to cover the strands. This easy-to-use wire finishes your jewelry with a neat and professional look. Cut a small portion of wire, slide it over your Beadalon as though it were a bead, then create your loop, using a crimp bead to secure it.
