Short Circuit - Earrings

Created by: Cindy Morris

This design is made with CRYSTALLIZED™ – Swarovski Elements.

2 #05-040-06-116 CRYSTALLIZED™ 6x4mm crystal rondelles, erinite
2 #05-601-08-116 CRYSTALLIZED™ 8mm crystal cube beads, erinite
9" #64-327 20-gauge half-hard round wire, sterling silver
1 pr #34-599 Ball-end French hook ear wires, sterling silver

Tools and supplies: ballpeen hammer, flush cutters, 0000 steel wool, flat-nose pliers, round-nose pliers, bench block (#69-125)

TIPS:
* Flush cut two 2½" and two 2" lengths of wire. Clean with steel wool.

* For the robot arms: Bend a 2" piece of wire in half around round-nose pliers. With the ends facing away from you, bend each end back towards you, using the plier jaws as a guide. Lightly hammer (flatten) the ends and use round-nose pliers to form simple loops. Lightly hammer the top, using pliers to pinch the center squiggle together to form a nearly closed loop (the "neck"). Bend the arms to create the shape you want.

* For the “foot/base”: lightly hammer (flatten) one end of a 2½" piece of wire and form a spiral. Texture/flatten with the ballpeen hammer. String an 8mm cube, the wire arm created in step 2, and a 6mm rondelle. Finish with a wrapped loop. Make sure the loop faces forward. Open loop on an ear wire and attach robot.
