|
As seen in the Rings & Things 2009 Fall Supplement
Created by: Amy Mickelson
This design is made with CRYSTALLIZED™ – Swarovski Elements.
54” #47-034 26-gauge round wire, silver plate (cut into nine 6” pieces)
1 #44-780-27 22mm 24-gauge square blank, copper
1 #44-642-0 10x11mm bird charm, raw brass
5 #05-328-03-45 CRYSTALLIZED™ 3mm faceted bicone crystals, olivine*
1 #44-155-9 28mm square filigree, gunmetal
2 #37-133-9 4.5mm round jump rings, gunmetal
27” #40-099-17-7 2.9mm flat link chain with figure-8 connectors, antiqued copper plate
2 #37-136-7 5mm round jump rings, antiqued copper plate (not shown)
1 #39-243-7 7x12mm lobster clasp, antiqued copper plate (not shown)
* NOTE: Beginning in 2009, Swarovski is replacing their 5301 faceted bicone crystal style with their new 5328 faceted XILION bicone bead. Either style of bicone works well for this design.
Tools and supplies: cutters, chain-nose plietrs, metal awl (#65-801), hammer, antiquing solution such as such as Win-Ox™ (#86-343)
TIPS:
* Punch a series of parallel holes in the metal square using metal awl. Patina with Win-Ox.
* Thread each piece of wire through two parallel holes twice and wrap in back to secure.
* Attach filigree square to top and bottom wires.
* Each row of wrapped wire in the back creates the three dimensional look.
