Pink Tattoo - Pendant

A free pendant design project featuring a waterslide transfer applied to Kato Polyclay™ set in an Amate Studios™ pendant bezel from Rings & Things.

As seen in the 2010 Fall Supplement
Created by: Amy Scalise

Suggested Materials:
1 #46-893-426-3 Amate Studios™ rectangular lipped pendant plate with bezel,
silver plate
1 pkg #84-702-04 Kato Polyclay™, magenta
1 #83-210-03 Lisa Pavelka waterslide transfers, tiny tattoos
1 #40-168-3 20" Calypso™ snake chain necklace, silver plate

Tools and supplies:
craft pasta machine (#85-380)
hobby knife (#66-023)
Tenax™ Plus Super Glue (#60-240)

NOTE: Amate bezels are hand-soldered. A plating is applied after soldering to create a more uniform finish. Baking, firing or otherwise applying heat may cause this plating to melt and/or discolor. For best results with polymer clay, do not bake your designs
in these findings.

TIPS:
* Use a pasta machine to condition and flatten the clay.
* Create a paper template of the bezel and cut the clay to size with a hobby knife.
* Follow manufacturer's instructions and apply the waterslide transfer to the unbaked clay. When applying the transfer, press from the center outward, to avoid air bubbles.
* Bake the piece according to the clay instructions.
* Once cool, glue it into the bezel, and slide the pendant the necklace chain.
