Let me introduce you to My Blue Island, a delightful necklace design project that uses hand-dyed silk ribbon and dumortierite gemstone beads from Rings & Things.

Suggested materials:
1 #21-005-092-30 25x35mm puffed oval gemstone bead, dumortierite
4 #21-886-092 6mm round gemstone beads, Bead, dumortierite
4 #37-415-3 1.5" thin head pins, silver plate
1 #37-422-3 2" head pin, silver plate
7 #27-573-3 3mm round metal beads, silver plate
7 #26-120-3 7mm large-hole spacer beads, silver plate
1 #49-944-42 3-D mermaid charm, antiqued silver
4 #37-133-3 4.5mm round jump rings, silver plate
4 #37-145-3 6mm round jump rings, silver plate
2 #37-167-3 8mm round jump rings, silver plate
1 #61-479-05 hand dyed 32-36" silk ribbon, moody blue
1 #39-181-01-5 Teardrop swirl toggle clasp, antiqued silver plate
Tools and supplies:
Wubbers™ round-nose pliers (#69-275-02), Wubbers narrow flat-nose pliers (#69-275-30), Wubbers medium flat-nose pliers (#69-275-31),
side flush cutter (#69-056)
TIPS:
* Create small bead dangles, and attach to the large-hole spacer beads using 4.5mm round jump rings.
* Use 6mm jump rings to attach the mermaid charm and toggle clasp.
* Center the oval gemstone pendant on the silk ribbon and secure in place with large-hole spacers.
* Use overhand knots to secure the 6mm bead dangles on the ribbon.
