Hazel-Boyd-Elisabeth Orchid

Artist: Dawn Vertrees (Fort Lauderdale, FL)
Honorable Mention, Metal Clay

Dawn admitted that this was her first attempt at constructing a metal clay flower and we think she excelled at it! Of her subject matter, she says "It was inevitable that I sculpt a single orchid because of my love of orchids." The large round beads are made with porcelain bisque beads and Art Clay™ Silver overlay paste. She also made the metal-clay clasp, and then accented her silver pieces with sterling stardust beads, Bali-style spacers and Swarovski crystal bicone beads.
