Swanklet

Artist: Kathryn Levine (Morgan Hill, CA)

"The 'Swanklet' came about as a combined collaboration between myself and my sister Mary Estrada, of 2 Bead or Knot 2 Bead. Mary and I were making jewelry the Fourth of July weekend. Mary made a three-strand necklace with Beadalon® wire that came out really nice. She then proceeded to make an anklet out of red, white, and blue using my silver crimpers as beads (the nerve). Well the anklet came out okay in spite of her misuse of the crimping bead, so I decided to play around a little and use Swarovski® along with sterling silver beads. I eventually made the little heart to dangle on the side and started making one-, two- and three-strand anklets that sell like hotcakes." — Kathryn Levine

Additional Top Picks are designs our editor especially liked despite the fact that they did not win a formal prize. These designs are often simple, practical and/or whimsical examples of how to use Rings & Things components well.
