Leap Frog Mixed Media Box

A free mixed media project featuring a paper covered gift box using wooden Ojime frog beads as a base for a wood handle from Rings & Things.

Suggested Materials:
1 each #63-207 Gift Box, Cardboard, J7
2 each #29-995-022 Bead, Ojime, Leap Frogs
2 each #44-154-9 Filigree, Round (Black Gunmetal)
1 pkg #55-000-02 idea-ology®, Corners (Antiqued Metals) (use 4 brass corners)
2 each #29-804-2 Bead, Bone, Saucer, 6mm (Antiqued)
2 each #28-000-005-211 Bead, Glass, Faceted Rondelle, 6mm (Red)
2 each #23-494-131 Bead, Glass, Firepolish, Faceted Rotund Rondelle, 4mm (Tan)
2 each #37-099-15-3 Head Pin, 1.5", Standard, Ball End (Silver Plated)

Tools and Supplies:
#60-242 Adhesive, Bead Fix™
#65-801 Tool, Awl, Metal
#60-265 adhesive E-6000
Decorative paper from art supplier or oriental grocery store
Scissors
Glue stick adhesive
Paint brush
Bamboo stick

Designer Tips:
  • Cover gift box with decorative paper and use a glue stick to secure.
  • Use E-6000 adhesive to secure the metal corners, filigrees and wooden frog beads to the box top.
  • Poke holes in bamboo stick with a metal awl.
  • Coat the stick with Bead Fix to give it additional strength.
  • Dab the entire length of the head pins with adhesive and add components in order shown. Thread through holes in the stick and frog beads.
