The Tank Bracelet
|
As seen in the 2006 Super Supplement!
Created by: Mary Morton
The beautiful and strong design of this piece was inspired by a Brazilian jewelry designer.
21-684-050 Gemstone rectangles, pyrite (2 full strands)
21-000-118-05 Gemstone squares, smoky quartz
21-894-118 Faceted round gemstones, smoky quartz
61-702-12 2mm braided cotton cord, brown
Although we don't typically wear "tank runners" on our wrists, the design of this piece came from looking too "tanky" to ignore. A lighter gemstone would have given this piece a daintier feel - but we like the bold strength of pyrite and smoky quartz.
Each gemstone was sewn into place using a technique similar to a ladder stitch. The pyrite edges were sewn separately, then pieced together by attaching the quartz squares to the cord.
Pyrite is just one of our many beautiful gemstones. Browse our Gemstone Beads Index to see our ever-growing line of gemstones!
