Hibernation

Artist: Michela Verani (Londonderry, NH)
First Place, Metal Clay

"This piece was made as a submission to the Metal Clay Master's Registry for their sleeve pendant project (and it passed). The idea for this pendant came to me while walking in the woods with my dog, when a squirrel actually scolded me from a tree. Once I made the pendant, I had a hard time finding a chain that I liked with it, and then realized that the shape of my grandmother's old chain matched the whorls on the base of the pendant. I like wearing this piece on her chain."
-- Michela Verani

To make this piece, Michela used low-fire slow-drying Art Clay(TM) Silver 650 and Art Clay 650 paste.
