Nested - Necklace

Created by: Sondra Barrington

This design is made with CRYSTALLIZED™ – Swarovski Elements.

For each pendant:
1 #24-120-01-8 20mm metal wire ball, copper plate
1 #41-792-01-8 Small tube-top bail for gluing, copper plate
1 spool #46-400-54 20-gauge Artistic™ Wire, natural copper
2 #37-136-7 5mm round jump rings, antiqued copper plate (not shown)
1 #39-159 Small scalloped cast toggle clasp, antiqued copper plate (not shown)
20" #40-099-35-7 4.1mm flattened long-and-short chain, antiqued copper plate

Nestled items:
1 #05-520-12-160 CRYSTALLIZED™ 12mm graphic crystal bead, crystal/silver shade
1 #20-465-X Extra large Tibetan-style oval Chinese turquoise bead, Chinese turquoise

Tools and supplies: nippers, chain-nose pliers, antiquing solution such as Win-Ox™ (#44-499-0), E-6000 adhesive (#60-265)

Re-purposed wire balls make divine nests. Nestling a favorite gemstone, special crystal or found object into an accommodating wire home makes a delightful pendant.

TIPS:
* Before nestling the bead or object in place, apply patina to the wire ball, extra wire, toggle clasp and bail.

* Re-shape the wire ball, and then embed your object into place. Use 3-6"of additional wire to secure the object in the nest.

* Use adhesive to attach the nest to the bail. For a more professional finish, drill holes into the bail and wire the nest onto it, thus avoiding the need for adhesives.
