Queen of Hearts - Earrings
|
Created by: Amy Mickelson
2 #44-511 11x11x2mm small open heart charms, sterling
2 #34-172-1 Jumbo kidney ear wires, surgical stainless steel
Tools and supplies: Epoxy 330 adhesive (#60-230), mica powders such as Jacquard’s Pearl Ex Mica Pigment Powders, masking tape, tooth picks, wax paper, plastic drinking straw
TIPS:
* The designer used two-part epoxy adhesive (Epoxy 330) for this project. One can substitute EasyCast epoxy (#82-500-08).
* Lay a short piece of masking tape on the work surface sticky side up. Place charms onto the sticky side of masking tape.
* Place a small amount of each part of the epoxy onto a piece of wax paper. Use a toothpick to mix the epoxy according to the manufacturer’s directions and add a dab of the mica pigment powder. Remember a little pigment goes a long way.
* Cut the end of a plastic drinking straw at an angle. Use it to scoop the mixed epoxy and squeeze it into the open area of the heart charm. A toothpick can be used as well.
