Leather wrap bracelets with beads
«

hi,
i'm trying to make the leather wrap bracelets with the beads and i ordered some new thread. ( It's SuperLon). I am having trouble
threading it back through the bead! Is the thread too thick or is my needle too fat? I am so frustrated. Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't personally made any of these, just admired the ones folks here have made. I'll make sure the people who have made them see your question and try to help on Monday.
In the mean time, I want to make sure you've seen our original (and still very popular) blog post at
http://www.rings-things.com/blog/2011/03/08/how-to-make-wrapped-leather-bracelets/#.TtAgCFbvweo
The forum question and answer at
http://www.rings-things.com/forum/index.php/topic,5248.0.html
might help. In that Cindy says
"You can definitely use a different thread - just make sure that it will pass through your beads twice before you get started. The only tricky thing is that you will probably have to knot the thread to keep it on your needle, which could cause a whole new headache."

Thank you, yes, i have seen that and it was great. I actually used the tutorial to buy the materials (the thread) so i just wonder if I could buy thinner needles although I
don't know how much thinner it could get... I love the thread and really want to get started again! Thanks.

What size/style of needle are you using right now?
And what size and type of beads are you using?
Here are our needles:
http://shop.rings-things.com/cart/pc/Needles-Threaders-c1996.htm
The names of the needles say what size seed beads they work best with, which is a little awkward to convert to other types of beads, but I can cross-reference the normal hole sizes if I know what sizes and type of beads you are using.
I am fairly sure that the problem you are running into, is the needle size rather than the cord size, but not 100% sure.

Thanks Polly but I'm actuallly not sure what size needles they are... i guess I should know this. The beads are 6mm. Maybe if you tell me the best size needle
to use with that SuperLon thread (that's in your tutorial), and the 6mm beads(and any other size beads I could use), then that would be really helpful! I'm sorry
for the silly questions, I just never did this before so it's so frustrating.
Thanks for your help!!

Hi Fresnick! The problem could be that you are using a "regular" needle instead of a beading needle. Beading needles have much narrower eyes - this makes them more difficult to thread, but also able to pass through bead holes. I recommend size 10 "sharps" beading needles (
http://shop.rings-things.com/cart/pc/Beading-Needle-Size-10-1996p17541.htm
). You can read more about it on our blog if you are interested:

Good luck! Cindy

i actually bought beading needles. They are very flexible and super thin. Still doesn't work. I'm convinced that the thread is just too fat.

Hi everyone, your knowledge in creating leather straps might help me with my problem: I was asked to create a bracelet or rather a watch strap made of beads but I cannot imagine how to properly fix the ends of the strap to
the mens watches
without making it loo (and fell) awkward, any experiences? I am relatively new to the field.
Thanx,

An easy way to get started with the leather wrap bracelets is with our kits:
https://shop.rings-things.com/cart/pc/showsearchresults.asp?resultCnt=20&keyword=exclusive+lashed+bracelet+kit
Or, here is our original blog tutorial:
