Hi Kurt!  I'm experiencing something I hope you can shed some light on.  I'm attempting my first project with 650 Slow Dry, and am really rather frustrated.  It actually seems stiffer than regular 650, and when I try to braid it, or twist it, it breaks!  I'm misting it regularly, doing everything I do with regular 650 .... I didn't expect it to behave this way.

Have you found the slow dry to behave differently (besides drying slower, I mean)?  Any tips?

Thanks!
Ann

It has always felt sort of rubbery to me. I would not expect it to need the same misting as reguler 650 but ??.
There is a method of extruding the slow dry - use an empty syringe, roll a thick 'worm form' and put it in the syringe, then you can press out a cord to braid with. This will involve a lower amount of handling of the clay and may help.
Also you when you first get the clay out, you might squeeze it out, mist it once or twice and then knead it around well. This will condition it before you start.
Don't mix slow dry with your other clays
