What I would like to know i guess can not wait, I want to enter the contest but I do not have the sales receipts and also the stock numbers of the beads I use from Rings Things?

will there be a problem? I have not purchased much in ahwhile but I do know some of them, not all, and also do you really need a rings things customer number I can not find mine, due to being a bead artist things get legs and move around town!!   and so I do not know where they went '<img'>

Also, are we allowed to post the people that inspired me? they are also artists too.. thanks

Hi Linda,

In the .Design Contest form, you can enter "none" for the account number field.

For items that you can't find a stock number for, please describe them well.  For example, instead of "silver beads and red wire" list:
4mm round silver-plated bead,
6mm melon-shaped sterling bead,
22-guage red colorcraft wire,
19-strand red Beadalon
And also if you don't have stock numbers, possibly list where you found it (such as the Spring 2006 Boise Bead Show).

When the judges are looking at the technical aspects of a piece of jewelry, they can't always tell from the photo exactly what it was made of, and will refer to the parts-list.  If they can't tell what materials you used, that often counts against you, because when parts are not listed, they generally assume lower-quality materials.  (For example, due to durability/longevity factors, they would generally rate something strung on fishing line, lower than the same item strung on a compatible weight of Beadalon or Soft Flex stringing cable.)

In the "story of your piece" section, feel free to write anything that relates, such as the artists or events that inspired you, how you created unique portions of the item, creative solutions to blockages, how long it took to make, etc.

Hi Linda,
The judging process has begun, and we will be announcing winners during the 1st week of April (I believe on April 5).
We will be sending an e-mail (or snail-mail for those who do not have an e-mail address) announcement to the winners that week, and we also will be posting a link on the home page, to the 2006 Contest Winners sectio of our Design Gallery Design Gallery.

We will be sending an e-mail to all contestants who submitted via e-mail, as well as well as to all current e-newsletter subscribers.

Yes, the gift certificates are basically entered as a credit to winners' accounts, and may be spent on shipping or other misc. fees, as well as actual stock items.

We are in the process of sending e-mails (and snail-mails to those who don't have e-mail) to the winners and other entrants in our Design contest.

For those who are too excited to wait for the mail... we have the grand prize, first prize winners, and honorable mentions now posted in our Design Gallery.   ( http://www.rings-things.com/gallery )

We also have a section of "Other Top Picks" posted with them.  These are designs that we thought showed an extra-creative or simply-nice use of a component.

David -- I received your e-mail, but I don't have a way to reply to you.

The question you asked I believe other people are wondering also, so here(above) is the general reply.

The address the forum included for me to reply to, is that of the R&T Web master -- so I think that maybe you're not registered with the forum, and so it included a default address.

I have already entered the contest and I have not heard anything to it as of yet also where can I read up on the contest and find out who did win, I know my kind of anxious but if My piece My Blue Heaven was picked then I will fly out to Washington to have you film it and then bring it home again, I was hoping that it was one of them that was selected thanks, Linda '<img'>

Hi Linda

We are in the process of sending e-mails (and snail-mails to those who don't have e-mail) to the winners and other entrants.

In the meantime, if you tire of watching your in box, we already have the links set up in our Design Gallery:
