Beading on jar candles

Hi
I am needing advice about beading on jar candles. My Brother and Sister-in-law reciently opened a candle store/gift shop and he has asked me if I can design beaded covers to put on them. I would love to but I am stuck on what is the best design, will it be alright to have this on jar that would get hot and if any ideas on what type thread or other to use.
Thanks

For thread, you may want to go with the
thinnest weight of Beadalon
or
Soft Flex
. These are nylon-coated metal-cable products for stringing. They are heavier weight than normal beading thread, so go with the larger sizes of seed beads (avoid teeny size 15s). Size 10, 11 or maybe size 12 seed beads would be preferable.
It looks like we don't currently have any books with home dec patterns.
So I'd suggest visiting your closest craft store, and picking up a home dec beading book, and/or a Christmas ornament beading book. The designs that you would put on a wine bottle or Christmas ornament should be be easily modifiable for a candle jar.
It will probably take a few tries to get the proper arrangements down, for the size and shape of the jars you'll be working with, but once you get the hang of it, these designs should actually be fairly quick.
