I'm new here, and found this site while looking for cell phone lanyards.  I need some advice on what beads and other "pretty things" to use to make the cell phone charms (danglers, or what other names they might have).  My daughter and her friends (high school juniors) want to form a group to participate in our local Relay for Life held in May.  They would like to make the cell phone charms to sell in order to raise money for their group to participate.  What would be the best type of beads and things to use that would look nice, be a good seller, but also keep the expense down for us.  And while I'm at it, what would be a reasonable price to charge for the finished product.  I bought one from Walden books several months ago, and I think I paid $5.00 - $6.00.  I'd sure appreciate some advice, tips on assembly, etc.  Thanks!!

A good way to get inspired would be to take your daughter and a few of her friends, and go window-shopping.
Check out what is available at the department stores, those little accessory shops in the mall, plus various types of gift stores.

What you'll find will be mostly mass-produced glitzy items, but it will give you a good idea as to weight, size, and pricepoint.  Possibly even construction (what size rings, etc. are used to connect what types of items together).

You can also browse online cell phone accessory sites, but the images are not always as clear there.

Here is one cell phone lanyard in our Design Gallery, titled "London Calling" (after the color "London Blue" and with a nod to The Clash).

Polly - Thanks for the reply.  I've been getting some ideas on what beads, spacers and charms to use.  I think we can have a nice variety of cell phone charms to sell.                       I'm always open to advice and suggestions.  Thanks!! :Wink

I just noticed that we didn't specify what cording or wire we used on that cell phone lanyard.
We'll add that later today.

Also, if you post some ideas of what you're thinking about using (how you want it to look), we can provide some tips or hints about how to put them together.
