Making pewter /polymer clay

I have this Idea, what if you used FIMO Metalic powder Pewter and mixed it with Plain white Sculpy Clay . Would this produdce an almost pure pewter clay?? Would it even work??  Personally I hope So :D

hmmm, I honestly have not used the metallic powders, although I'm thinking you might have better results mixing the powder with translucent sculpey rather than the white to get the effect you are looking for.

You may want to try experimenting...

Nicole has a couple of great ideas there. Experiments are in order, and the translucent may make a real difference for your coloration.  For really strong color, you may want to apply the powder to the surface because getting it mixed into the clay to a dense metallic color may take so much powder that the working properties of the clay base may be ruined [ie it might not stick together as well any more].

You could also try mixing it into pearl clay, and adding a bit of liquid polymer to balance out the drying effects of the powder.  I have mixed carbon black into pearl to get a great black pearl color.  I would imagine that the pewter powder would be equally successful.  The pearl clay is a bit translucent to begin with, and already somewhat metallic looking with the mica powders.
