Making bridal party gifts

I'm getting married in April and thought instead of giving my bridal party store bought jewelry, I'd make my own. I'm pretty crafty, but I've never made eearings or necklaces and wonder if any one had any ideas or pointers??? The colors for the wedding are white and apple red. So far I know I want to incorporate those colors but I'm up for ANY suggestions!!!! Please help! Thank you!

For ideas:
There are a number of web sites that have bridal/wedding jewelry designs, either patterns to view or for sale, and also there is jewelry to simply look at -- it's for sale, but great for inspiration.
Readers, do you have some favorites to post?
There is also our
Design Gallery
which, although it doesn't have any specifically-bridal jewelry, does have over 200 pieces of jewelry that might give you ideas. Be sure to check out the Contest Winners! There are a number of wedding-themed pieces in with the Honorable Mention and the "Additional Top Picks" sections.
Making the jewelry:
We don't have any instructions here for wedding/bridal jewelry, but we do have the basic how-to's that you'll most likely need. Check out our Projects page and click through the top two
Basic Jewelry-Making Hints
, which you will most likely need for earrings and possibly other embellishments.

I forgot -- here is a
previous bridal jewelry discussion
, that has a good list of magazines to look at, and some google searches to try.

Just an additional idea. The Art Clay Silver products are relatively easy to use and can be a great way to really personalize you pieces. Lapel pins for the guys, or ? ? ?
