I am a little confused on the swarovski 4mm bicone prices. The 1st one I get, I know what a gross is:

1-9 gross    $12.00
10-99          $11.25
100 and up  $10.50

Understandable. But then the next category after the mixed assortment it says:

Crystal Bead, Faceted Bicone, 4mm
Stock #: 05-301-04-01
4mm Swarovski® Austrian faceted crystal bicones, center-drilled, 0.4-0.8mm hole. This shape also known as a "rondelle."
Made in Austria       Catalog Page 246       RH       0000988.3665

1-11 doz      $1.44
12-119        $0.6242
120 and up  $0.5808

Here it talks about dozens. Does that mean for the 1st 12 pieces you pay $1.44?

Sorry but this has me a bit confused. I am interested in buying wholesale crystals, but I can't figure out the pricing.

Please help!

Thanks so much!

Hi,

Packaging in small quantities like a dozen, does make the smallest price break expensive.  It's only cost-effective if you really don't need very many of that color, and buying a gross will give you too many leftovers to use in a reasonable timeframe.
So if you buy only one dozen, they are $1.44/dozen.  But if you buy 12 dozen (a gross), then they are only .6242/dozen.
12 x $0.6242 = 1 gross of 1 color is $7.49
But buying 6 dozen  (6 x $1.44)would be $8.64, because of the packaging costs involved in repackaging 6 individual dozens.

Code Sample

           1-11 doz      $1.44
           12-119        $0.6242
           120 and up  $0.5808

The above prices translate to
$1.44/doz
$7.49/gross
$69.70/10gross.
They are written /doz, /gross/ 10gross in our catalog, but the online database shows the "price per smallest unit of measure, for each price break".  It is confusing all by itself, but the combination of the printed catalog and online store, gives you more information altogether.

So the "for 1 color" price above, is actually less expensive at one gross, then the assortment price below.
Code Sample

           1-9 gross    $12.00
           10-99          $11.25
           100 and up  $10.50

Let me know if that answers your question, or if I can help with anything else that seems odd or confusing with our units of measure or price breaks.
