Hey, I have a question...I am going to start consigning in a boutique in Spokane, WA next week and I am wondering about the sales tax for purchases of my jewelry from the boutique.  I'm pretty sure that the boutique takes care of the sales tax to the state, correct?  Do I need to get their UBI number from them for when I file my taxes, or does WA state require a certain form to be filled out by both parties or maybe just me?

Basically, how do we handle the sales tax on a consignment basis?  Thanks so much in advance!!

I assume they are taking a % of the sales price.  I have been treating these as a wholesale sales on my sched. C and with the state. You probably should have their UBI # under such circumstances.
I would check with your tax accountant.

Kurt's right. The store collects the sales tax. Your sale to them is wholesale. You need their resale number in your files.
