What would you use to to adhere a cab to a silver pendant/
paste type or oil paste?
I want to adhere a malachite cab to an existing silver pendant-which is not silver art clay that already has a 15 mm hole in it.
thank you,
Paul

Paul,

Some considerations come up regarding this.
1] Where is the pendant from?  Many of the items made around the world have very low temperature silver solder in their make up - when you fire the Art Clay materials with them, these solders may break down and the piece will fall apart.
2] You will have to solder or join a bezel on to your pendant. The bezel will then hold your malachite cab.
3] The best metal to metal join with Art Clay materials is made with ACS Oil Paste. Ordinarily this fires at 1470° F for 1/2 hr., but you might be okay torch firing it
I would attempt to attach a fine silver bezel wire with the Oil Paste.  This would be experimental territory, no guarantees on success
4] An alternative method would be to build Bezel and thin base out of Art Clay and cold fasten it to your Pendant.  You could do this by placing some silver wire pegs on the bottom of your piece when you are firing in the bezel wire on the top.  Then you locate and drill small holes into your Pendant and use the pegs as rivets to hold the 2 pieces together
