Dear barryb508,

I haven't yet seen a golf ball marker in person, but judging by some photos on websites, you may be well-served by an item like our <Font Color=orange>hat pins</Font Color>.  If these are too long, you can clip them to the desired length.

Also guessing, it would seem like <Font Color=blue>scatter pins / tie tacks</Font Color> may not be quite the right item.

Am I on the right track?  Or should I get more of a description from you?

I am making Golf ball markers from semiprecious stones and wampum but I can't find the simple flat round piece with the pin sticking out of it to attach my marker to. Does anyone know where I can find this item?
