Hi,
I am making custom handbags and have done some leather tooling that I would like to add to a handbag. The tooling piece is in a circle and I would like to add sterling wire around the edge of the tooling to add embelishment.  I will be putting both onto the front of a leather handbag.  Does anyone have any ideas as how to attach the wire to the leather??
Thanks

First thing that comes to mind is piercing the leather and sewing or weaving the silver wire right through it.  You couyld get some of the finer gauge wires which almost become thread, if that is appropriate to your design sense.
Second method might be to pierce the leather and use jump rings through the holes to join to the metal pieces.
Other thoughts: glues, rivets, sewing metal elements with holes drilled into them
