Hi:
I am just starting to make jewelry from my home and wanted to know if I could use any of the design on the design page?
If yes, is it possible to get instructions for some designs, a material list and possible prices.
Also, I live in Canada. I really wanted to find a Canadian supplier, your site looks awesome but do you know any Canadian supplies like yourselves?
Thanks so much for your help. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Lisa-
Thanks for your interest in the Rings & Things design gallery. To answer your first question- yes- you may make anything you see. All projects were created using Rings & Things stock items- included in a parts list to help ensure that you can order all you need to make the complete piece. We do ask, however, that you do not re-distribute any printed material such as project sheets- or sets of instructions we may send in response to your specific requests. (To request specifics for a gallery or printed jewelry item just post the name of the piece in a new thread with your needs- and I will do my best to get back to it with-in a week's time).
As far as recommending you to a Canadian Supplier- I can understand the desire to buy locally. Perhaps your local bead shops would be the way to go- you should be able to find these retail stores in your phone book- or by contacting your local bead society.
Rings & Things is a wholesale company (which means wholesale prices
'>). We do ship to Canada, and I think you'll find our on-line store just as friendly (if not more so) as any other wholesale supply company web site- however, many people are still hesitant to purchase items on-line. So we have plenty of great customer support representative's on-hand- and a beautiful 313 page
Wholesale Catalog
that can help you on your way to ordering web-free.
Let us know if you need anything else.

And, here is some information about shipping internationally, so you can compare the speed and price of the various methods we can use to ship to Canada (and also to Japan, UK, Australia, etc.):

Hi Polly:
I was wondering if I could get a project sheet and detailed order sheet for the following: Necklaces: Drops of Jupiter, Greek Ice, Tropical Illusion, Amazonite and Lupis Barbell, Smokey Quartz and Topar Crystal, Maiden of the Amazon, Hanging Moss and Agate with Atitude. Braclets: Black Onyx Braclet and Banks of Seine. If this is too many items please let me know. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks so much.

Hi Lisa,
We don't have a formal project sheet for any of those necklaces, but we can write up some instructions and post them and/or send them to you. (We can send them to you via a private message, if you register for / log into our discussion forum.)
Regarding a detailed order sheet - the
Jewelry Design Gallery
lists the types of items to order, and each of the stock numbers link directly into the online store for easy ordering, but you're right, it doesn't list out how many of each item are needed to make the piece.
It does take a little time to work those out so we wait until some asks
'>.
We'll get those done one or two at a time, and will post the information and let you know as it is completed.
Maiden of the Amazon - we have gotten sooo many requests for information on how to make this one.
We added some zoomed-in images to the photo, so that should help a bit. Also, Amy is just about done writing up some really nicely detailed instructions for this piece, and we'll see if we can post those instructions on-line soon. Right now, they're in a good format for snail-mail, but by your spelling of catalogue, I'm thinking you might be posting from the UK? If you're here in North America, please send me a PM with your mailing address to me or
MaryM
(I think that link will work - otherwise find one of her postings, click on her name, and click through to the "send me an e-mail" portion).
re: catalog in order
Yes, no problem! We're happy to enclose a catalog in your order. And, we can sell to you even if you don't yet have tax/resale ID.
Here is some other general information about ordering from Rings & Things:

Hi Lisa- Sorry I missed this post somehow- I think I made the majority of your requests so I can get you started on one of the shortest projects while we work on the others- the Agate with Attitude choker is fairly quick and simple:
Parts
24-980-06 6mm round sterling silver SmartBeads (2 beads)
24-980-04 4mm round sterling silver SmartBeads (8 beads)
21-000-102-32 Botswana agate faceted puffed diamond beads (4 beads)
21-000-102-69 Botswana agate marquise bead (1 bead)
52-500 Sterling silver cable choker with friction clasp (1 choker)
-The choker comes complete with clasp- put each bead on in this order-
(for one side of necklace) one 4mm smartbead, one puffed diamond, two 4mm smart beads, one puffed diamond, one 4mm smartbead
(for center) One 6mm smartbead, one marquise bead, one more 6mm smartbead
(for remaining side) one 4mm smartbead, one puffed diamond, two 4mm smart beads, one puffed diamond, one 4mm smart bead
The smartbead design grips the choker so that allows you to space these however you'd like.
Since the design itself only utilizes Ten smartbeads total- feel free to either use only 6mm or only 4mm smartbeads to reduce the cost of parts. One bag of ten- in either size- should have this project covered.
SmartBead
HINTS: 6mm sizes are easier to slide onto thicker cord and metal... if you're having a hard time sliding on a smartbead- use a bead reamer or head pin (or any other pokey type tool) to enlarge the center of the bead.
-There ya go!!! "Maiden of the Amazon" instructions coming soon to a Jewelry Design Gallery near you...

Thanks so much for all the info. I actually live in Canada but usually write my e-mail late at night as I suffer from insomnia and have a hard time sleeping but still am tired so I probably spell things wrong alot.
'>
I will wait to place an order till I get a few more detailed order lists so I can place a larger order and save on shipping cost. I will continue to check here for instructions and detailed supply lists. Thank you so much it must take alot of time. There are probably a couple that I can figure out by looking at them. I will also be making earrings to match the necklaces I make. I notice many beads come in packages so I will have extras to make up some earrings to match.
Thanks so much for all your time and effort. I am so excited to get started. I have been a stay at home Mom for 11 years and really need something for myself but still wanted to be here for the kids when they arrive home from school, I hope this works, I know I will enjoy it.
Look forward to hearing from you soon.
Are there any instruments that you would suggest I also buy to help make the jewelry? Or store my beads and gemstones?
Bye for now.

Hi Polly:
It is Lisa again, I have now registered, but I used a different name as you can see. The name comes from an inside joke with some friends!!! I am going to call my company Princess Designs so I thought I would keep the theme going!! HA HA
'>
I am not sure I want to post my mailing address in here, anyone can read it can't they?
Let me know if there is a more secure place I could place it.
Thanks

You are right that anyone can read you e-mail addr if you post it here. It's better not to post it where any meandering spider can harvest it for nefarious spam purposes.
'>
At the bottom of each message (now that you are registered) is a "PM" button . That will let you send a private mail to Polly or Mary or whoever. Your e-mail address in that will not be public and only the person you address it to can see it.

Yes, I agree that you don't want your e-mail address visible - or it will get harvested by the spam-spiders, and you'll start getting tons of spam.
So for either your e-mail address or snail-mail address, there are a couple of ways you can send a direct message to Mary or me:
I'm going to admit I never noticed these until reading Russ' post: At the bottom of each message in a thread (just a little ways under the signature) you can PM (private message or private mail) the poster of that message. That type of message won't be public -- only the person you send it to, can see it.
Also (the method I've used before), most names on this forum that are clickable, lead to a place where you can e-mail them. That's certainly the case with Mary's and mine. They're only clickable from the main pages though.

Hi Polly:
I have received my first order and can't wait to get started.
Do you know if any of these instructions and supply list will be ready anytime soon?
Maiden of the Amazon, Drops of Jupiter, Greek Ice, Banks of the Seine, and Black Onyx Bracelet.
Thanks
