I make watches with exchangeable bands. I would like to make different shape jump rings to put on them to attach my bands to. I have tried using regular jump rings and they are not strong enough so I started making my own. I need to solder them together to make them stonger. I am assuming that a butane torch would not be wise doing it right next to a watch face. However, if I am using 16 - 18 guage wire will a soldring pen(gun) be strong enough? I am using sterling silver. I'm not sure using a torch is wise for me. I'm afraid I would burn my whole house down!!!!
What do you suggest I do???
Please help!

I did a search of our forum with "soldering". In looking at the results - the following threads should help you a lot.
