Hi,
I ran across something labeled "Blue Coral".I have several strings of them.I don't know much about coral and I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about them. Each
bead ranges from about 3x5mm to 7x5mm.They are a slate and tan/off white in color and the strands are 24".
Thanks,
Beverly

Good morning, Beverly.

The blue coral we carry is a naturally blue-gray sponge coral, almost "slate" colored like you describe (though I'm not sure if the tan/off-white beads on the strand would also be considered "blue coral" - perhaps just another color of sponge coral?). We have a pretty extensive entry on coral in our Gemstone Beads Index, and you might find the type of information you're seeking in there. Blue coral is one of the eight types listed. Your beads sound very pretty!

Thanks Melissa!
I'll try looking there!
