I'm working with a small group of high school kids, teaching them how to make simple jewelry.  They were a tough nut to crack, but now that they've found out all the cool things they can make, they're really excited.

I've been ordering lots of inexpensive jewelry findings from R&T--those hair 'easy clips' are going to be very popular with this group!--and they love looking through the bags to see what's come.  One of them found a Jolly Rancher--she couldn't believe it.  "What's this doing in here?" she exclaimed.

I told her that R&T always sends me a Jolly Rancher and a Tootsie Roll with my orders.

The entire group was dumbfounded.

"They send you.... CANDY??!!"  They think you are THE coolest company ever!

Now they want me to order more stuff.   Cheesy

I just had to tell you about your newest fan club here in Keene!   banana

Ha Ha, Thanks Luann!

It's good to know we've sweetened up another customer!

I think you've heard that we sometime run out of Tootsies, either the local wholesaler is out or Dee & I didn't make a local supplies run. We'll get calls from customers  just letting us know that they got their order as fast as usual, that everything was as expected except..... "did you guys quit sending Tootsie Rolls or Jolly Ranchers?"

I no longer remember when or why we started to include them in orders. It was a  long time ago. I know a number of other on line sellers now include some similar goodies. So I think it really must be a good idea.

From your "last page" column in Crafts Report it sounds like your class room efforts are paying off in other ways, too.
Glad to know it went well.

Are you doing this work with students on an ongoing basis?
